IEEE Enterprise Networking (ENTNET) 2008
3 December 2008
New Orleans, Louisiana

ENTNET is a long-running conference organized under the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) for the purpose of promulgating an understanding of the development and evolution of enterprise-level networking technologies. Over the years the conference has been bringing together a rich diversity of leading-edge telecom experts from industry, universities, and government. The popularity of the conference continues to grow as the premier forum for researchers, engineers, and business executives in the networking space drawing an attendance from all over the world.

The 2008 event is focused on four enterprise-relevant themes:

- Business continuity, disaster preparedness, and disaster recovery, including lessons-learned
  from Katrina
- Open Wireless Technologies – taking wireless to the next level;
- Service oriented architectures (SOA), particularly network-based SOAs; and
- Evolving technologies to support the oil-, casino-, and global business industries.

The conference is co-located with IEEE GLOBECOM 2008, New Orleans, Louisiana, which runs 30 November - 4 December 2008, focusing on enterprise communication technologies, complements IEEE GLOBECOM 2008 in a very synergistic way, given that IEEE GLOBECOM focuses on areas of communications related to government, military, industry and academia. ENTNET‚s practical enterprise focus also balances out very well the more formal and analytical format of IEEE GLOBECOM.
